Why is sleep a priority?

We all know how good it feels to wake up after a good night's sleep - energized, refreshed, and ready to take on the day. But did you know that sleep is also crucial for our physical and mental health?

Getting enough sleep helps our bodies repair and regenerate, supports our immune system, and reduces the risk of chronic diseases like diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease. And when it comes to our mental health, sleep is essential for regulating our mood, managing stress, and improving cognitive function.

So, how can we make sure we're getting the sleep we need?

First, prioritize sleep and make it a non-negotiable part of your routine. Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep every night and stick to a regular sleep schedule, even on weekends.

Second, make sure what you wear to bed is comfortable and doesn't overheat you.  It doesn't matter if your prefer pyjamas or nightgowns - the main priority is to ensure that whatever sleepwear you choose is made from soft, natural, comfortable fabric, such as organic cotton jersey.

Next, create a sleep-conducive environment by keeping your bedroom cool, dark, and quiet. Avoid using electronics before bed, as the blue light can interfere with your sleep cycle.

And finally, practice good sleep hygiene, like avoiding caffeine and alcohol before bed, and winding down with relaxing activities like reading or taking a warm bath.
